My family doesn’t really seem to care all that much about my New York experience, so I’m hoping you guys do at least the slightest bit.
Day 1:
I woke up around 5am, made sure I had everything I needed, left my house around 6am, arrived at my school at 6:15am and got onto our bus. My bus was bus 1. We called it the Double Dutch Bus in honour of seeing Raven Symone on Broadway. Bus 1 was absolute perfection, to put it in the simplest way. Lots and lots of people from the Joseph cast surrounded me, and I could not be happier to finally spend sometime with them again. We arrived at our hotel in New York at around 5pm. We were pretty early, considering the fact that we expected to arrive at 6:30pm. We checked into our hotel, got comfortable, and later made our way down to Times Square. Mind you, visiting Times Square meant that 1 of my many dreams would come true. It was absolutely incredible. Our original plan for that night was to head up to The Top Of The Rock, but it was much too foggy, so we had the chance to stay in Times Square until 10pm. Did I mention I saw Snoop Dogg? No? Oh. Well, yeah. That was interesting.
Day 2:
Guided Tour of New York, Grand Central Terminal, Chinatown, Broadway show, Central Park and the Apollo Theatre. I will just start by saying that I hated Chinatown. That’s all. For the Broadway show, we ended up seeing Sister Act with Raven Symone. It was absolutely incredible. Raven is so beautiful, so talented, and just all around perfection. Absolute perfection. There is legitimately no other way to describe it. We shopped in Times Square for a little bit while we had some free time to get dinner, which is when I met up with Vanessa and Chris. There is a massive ass Disney store in Times Square that is absolute perfection. I honestly could not be in that store without feeling like I was going to cry. Disney all around. Everywhere. Everything was Disney. Lilo and Stitch, Bambi, Finding Nemo, EVERYTHING. It was beyond perfection. The Apollo Theatre was breathtaking. Easily one of the most beautiful theatres I have ever been in. Here is dream number 2 coming true: Strawberry Fields. I honestly have no words. I had no words, and I will continue to have no words. Such a crazy, overwhelming experience. And Central Park… Beautiful. There is no other way to describe it. Note: This is not in order.
Day 3:
Day 3 was our last day of activities in New York. Day 3 was my favourite. We started with Radio City Music Hall. This is where my third, and final dream comes true. Words cannot express how incredibly excited I was to tour this music hall. I walked in, felt a feeling that I’ve never felt before, and just took everything in. I cried. A whole lot. It’s safe to say that touring it was one of the best experiences ever. Next, we went to MoMA. I didn’t exactly enjoy it a whole lot, so there isn’t much to say about that. Top of The Rock was switched into the time that we had after MoMA. Now, I was semi-excited for this. I am terrified of heights, though, so you can imagine how I felt. I stayed up there for about 10 minutes and left instantly because I started feeling very sick and dizzy. Went and met up with Vanessa’s aunt and uncle, ate lunch, met up with Chris, sat around 5th Avenue for a few hours, and attended mass at St. Patrick’s Cathedral. The mass was extremely un-organized and very confusing. The Cathedral on the other hand, was beautiful. We then headed out to a buffet dinner. It was gross. Except for the cheesecake. The cheesecake was perfect. You can never go wrong with cheesecake. And this is where all of the fun begins! I’m certain this is due to the fact that everyone was incredibly overtired. We’re on the bus going to the Staten Island Ferry. Everyone lets loose. Hannah. God bless Hannah. She goes up to the front of the bus, takes the microphone, and starts singing Justin Bieber songs. Followed by Cher. And then she is cut off. Bless her soul. I then became very hyper. Thank God for Stephen, Jasmine, Chris and Jacqueline being able to put up with me. From screaming, “GIMME HAIR BAWLS!” with Chris while waiting for the ferry, to acting like ducks with Jasmine IN the ferry, the night ended wonderfully. Especially after this picture was taken(thank you Stephen):
So, I guess that’s the end of my story. It’s a little long, I apologize. I left specific details out because I only got 8 hours of sleep in 3 nights so I’m tired. Feel free to ask me any questions if you want to know anything else.
